Product idea generation process:
CEO of Santa Joint Stock Company, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ngan (34 years old), co-founder of smart delivery cabinet SantaPocket, said that she start a business since August 2021 amid the Covid-19 pandemic. At that time, the apartment building where she lived also applied many solutions to prevent the spread of the disease.
Realizing the seriousness of the epidemic and the need for contactless delivery, Ngan came up with many ideas. “At that time, I was also a resident of an apartment building, so it was very difficult to receive goods because I had to come into contact with many people and shippers. Since the company had empty iron cabinets, I proposed to the apartment management board to use them so that residents could receive their items safely at that time,” Ngan shared.
From the idea of "contactless" delivery, she gathered a team of young people: engineers, software programmers, hardware to participate in researching and producing smart delivery cabinets. After a short time, the smart delivery cabinet called SantaPocket was born. This is a startup product by Smart delivery solution Integrated IoT technology. All delivery operations are performed via a mobile application and a QR code placed on the cabinet. It helps save time, effort, and costs for both the deliverer and the recipient through online commerce channels. The smart delivery cabinet consists of 17 compartments, including 3 sizes from small, medium, and large for users to choose from.
Difficulties in project implementation.
From the very beginning, Santa’s team encountered many difficulties. Research and development of smart cabinet technology requires a large investment of time, effort and finance. We faced challenges in designing, integrating technology and ensuring security for the cabinet system. Not only that, finding the right partners and suppliers was also a major obstacle.
The biggest difficulty that SANTA faces is that although smart delivery has existed in many countries, it is still very new to Vietnamese people. People are still familiar with the way traditional delivery and are hesitant to access technology and pay usage fees. Therefore, SANTAPOCKET smart delivery cabinets accept initial difficulties to effectively bring products and habits to residents.
Many apartment management boards still do not believe in the new product, the company and the team are too young. When implementing, persuading through many steps before being installed. In addition, as a newly established Vietnamese brand, competing with famous brands at home and abroad also makes it difficult for SANTAPOCKET smart delivery cabinets to reach many customers.
"Overcoming thousands of thorns" to achieve success.
With perseverance and effort, Santa has overcome all difficulties to achieve many remarkable achievements. The SantaPocket smart cabinet product has been completed with a modern design, integrated with IOT technology, ensuring absolute safety for goods. SantaPocket not only brings convenience to users but also helps save time and costs. Our products have received positive feedback from customers and are installed in many apartment buildings, offices and shopping centers.
As a frequent online shopper, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh Tam (35 years old), a resident of Decapella Apartment, Binh An Ward, Thu Duc City (HCMC) feels inconvenienced in making appointments with shippers to deliver goods. Many times, Ms. Tam's packages were "lost" and it took a long time to contact the owner and the delivery person to find them again.
“I have been very satisfied since the apartment switched to using smart cabinets. I have reduced the time spent on receiving and searching for goods compared to the previous spontaneous way of receiving. The fee is reasonable for me and I have 1 hour to keep the goods in the cabinet without losing money. In addition, if the goods are left for a long time, I am no longer afraid of losing them,” said Ms. Tam.
With less than 3 years of operation, SANTAPOCKET has achieved success through telling numbers:
- 42 installation locations operating in Ho Chi Minh City
- More than 38,000 customers use SANTAPOCKET smart delivery cabinets.
- 124 cabinets put into operation
- Over 350,000 orders successfully delivered.
