A Journey of Kindness: SantaCharity Cultivates Compassionate Connections with Phuoc Son Monastery

11 Jun 2025

Amidst the hustle and bustle of modern life, there still exist serene places to return to – where inner peace is nurtured with every mindful breath. Phuoc Son Monastery is one such place. Nestled quietly in the mountains of Phuoc Tan (Dong Nai), the monastery welcomes hundreds of practitioners each day from all walks of life to practice Vipassana meditation – a profound method that guides individuals back to themselves through mindfulness and awareness.

Regardless of age, background, or social status, this is a spiritual home open to all. What makes it even more special is that all activities at the monastery are completely free of charge, with no fees collected from practitioners or the public

To help sustain this serene environment for spiritual practice, Santa has partnered with the monastery to call upon the community’s support in providing essential supplies and daily necessities for the practitioners residing here.

Phuoc Son Monastery – A Sacred Refuge for Peaceful Minds

Phuoc Son Monastery is a center dedicated to the practice of Vipassanā meditation based on the Four Foundations of Mindfulness and the study of the Tipitaka (Three Baskets of Buddhist Scriptures). With a vast and compassionate vow, the Elder Monk and the Sangha at Phuoc Son have tirelessly maintained this peaceful Dharma hall — a refuge for hundreds of practitioners returning to cultivate the path, nurturing a life of mindfulness and simplicity.

Though never seeking recognition or expecting anything in return, it is precisely this humility and tireless spirit of selfless service that has touched the hearts of many and inspired them to offer support. As a result, all activities at the monastery have been sustained through the heartfelt contributions of kind benefactors and devoted supporters — from sacks of rice, salt, and warm blankets to silent prayers of goodwill.

Santa believes that every spiritual journey becomes more complete when practitioners no longer have to worry about daily needs such as food, rest, or basic living supplies. That is why we have partnered with Phuoc Son Monastery to launch this charitable initiative — calling on the community to contribute essential items in support of the monastery’s daily operations and serene environment for practice.

In Buddhist teachings, loving-kindness (mettā) and generosity (dāna) are not only acts of giving to others, but also powerful means of transforming oneself. Thus, every offering you give is more than just material support — it is a reflection of your heart, a noble act of goodness that connects your compassionate intention with the Three Jewels. Doing good is not only a way to accumulate merit, but also a path to transform suffering — for oneself and for the world. In today’s materialistic society, returning to compassion, selflessness, and the spirit of sharing is perhaps the most precious gift one can offer.

If you’re looking for a meaningful act of kindness to begin — this is the moment.
